The actress was fascinated by music and dance from a young age. It would eventually lead to her fame. Gillian Jacobs........................Jacobs was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Martina Magenau Jacobs is the maternal grandmother of Gillian Jacobs. Her birthplace was Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jacobs' father William F. Jacobs Jr. was an investment banker.She was born in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Mt. Lebanon. She is of French German Irish Scottish descent. Her family's Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery was established in Erie Pennsylvania in 1847 by her family. John Martin Magenau Jr. is the President and CEO of this brewery, was the first to establish it in Erie Pennsylvania in 1847 until 1978. Jacobs began her acting studies at the age of eight and attended the acting class on Saturdays at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up.She was a part of The Pittsburgh Public Theater where she had a regular place for the public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest leading her to be cast as Titania in its production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Mt. Jacobs was a graduate of Lebanon High School, New York in 2000. Then she moved to New York City to take classes in the Juilliard School. Her bachelor's degree was awarded in 2004.
